Terms of Service

KontaPR is a software platform for merchants, SMBs, accountants and consultants in Puerto Rico that centralizes information about government incentives and aid, and offers management tools (invoices, expense capture, financial statements, AI-assisted bookkeeping, bank connectivity, payroll assistance, client portal, among others).

KontaPR is an assistance and information tool. We are not a government agency, a law firm, or a licensed public accounting firm.

You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity in your account and for keeping your credentials confidential.

You must be of legal age and able to enter into a contract. If you use KontaPR on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind it.

KontaPR offers a free plan and paid monthly subscription plans (Pro and Business). Payments are processed through Stripe; we do not store your card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You may cancel anytime from your account; you keep access until the end of the period already paid.

Unless required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable for partial periods. Prices may change with reasonable prior notice.

You will not use KontaPR for unlawful purposes, upload content you have no right to use, or attempt to breach the security of the platform or other users.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You retain ownership of the data and documents you upload (receipts, financial statements, client information, etc.). You grant us a limited license to process and display them solely to provide the service.

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you upload, including the handling of your own clients’ data.

Some features use artificial intelligence to extract, classify or generate information (for example, reading receipts or drafting documents). AI outputs may contain errors or omissions.

You must review and verify any AI-generated output before using it or making decisions based on it. KontaPR does not guarantee the accuracy of such outputs.

If you connect a bank account, you authorize KontaPR to retrieve your financial data (transactions, balances and account information) through Plaid Inc. Your bank credentials are entered only in Plaid's interface; KontaPR never sees or stores them.

Your use of Plaid is also governed by Plaid's own terms and its End User Privacy Policy (https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy).

Bank data comes from your financial institution through Plaid; its availability, freshness and accuracy depend on the institution. You must reconcile your records and verify results before relying on them for decisions or tax obligations.

You may disconnect your bank at any time; doing so deletes the connection and its synced transactions.

KontaPR's payroll tools calculate and prepare working documents (pay stubs, checks, accumulations and filing worksheets such as 941-PR or W-2PR) as ASSISTANCE. KontaPR does not file returns, deposit taxes or move money.

The employer is solely responsible for verifying calculations (ideally with a licensed CPA), filing returns and depositing taxes on time through official channels (IRS, Puerto Rico Treasury, Department of Labor, CFSE, etc.).

Tax rates and parameters change; it is your responsibility to confirm them with the agencies or your licensed professional.

KontaPR’s content and tools are informational and for assistance only. They do NOT constitute legal, accounting, tax or financial advice, nor do they replace the judgment of a licensed professional.

We do not guarantee the approval of any incentive, benefit or application. Requirements, deadlines and program availability change; you must verify them directly with the relevant agency (DDEC, SBA, Treasury Department, CRIM, your municipality, etc.).

Filing tax returns, declarations or obligations is your responsibility. We recommend consulting a licensed accountant or attorney.

The software, the KontaPR brand, designs and platform content are owned by KontaPR or its licensors and protected by applicable laws. You acquire no rights beyond the license described here.

KontaPR relies on third-party providers such as Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Plaid (bank connectivity), Anthropic (AI) and Resend (email). Their use is also governed by their own policies.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KontaPR is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, nor for losses arising from decisions made based on the platform.

Our total aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold KontaPR harmless from claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate the service for breach or for operational reasons, with reasonable notice when possible.

We may update these Terms. We will post the current version with its date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the changes.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and applicable United States law. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Puerto Rico.
